The story of two Floridians and their foster Great Danes
As you may know, we are currently renting our home. Our lease is up in September and while I wanted to move into a “giant dog friendly” house, Christian wanted to renew our lease to save on moving costs. After a few conversations about it, I agreed.
But the universe didn’t!
A week later, we got a letter in the mail: our landlord has decided not to give us the option of renewing our lease. He wants to move back in. Which means…
WE HAVE TO FIND A NEW PLACE TO LIVE!
Christian is super annoyed and upset that we have to move. Not only do we have to spend money on deposits and a truck, we also have to pack, which he abhors.
On the other hand, I was and still am ecstatic. We have a chance to get closer to getting our puppies!
We immediately started house-hunting but since we were 8 weeks away from our lease ending, it was tough to find a place that had a move-in date at least 4 weeks from now. We were about to give up and wait until September when I came across this 2 bedroom 2 bath house 15 minutes away from where we live. They said the house would be available September 1st. I called the woman, rambled for 30 seconds about how “we want a gentle giant puppy we are responsible pet owners I’ve had my dog since she was 8 weeks old she’s 9 now and very well behaved we will give you lots of money oh please oh please oh PLEASE let us get a big puppy!”
She was more than happy to allow us to get a giant puppy.
Not only are they big dog-friendly, the property has a fenced-in yard. The house is in a good neighborhood. It has a 2 car garage (something we desperately need). And they’re okay with us moving in 2 weeks before our lease is up.
The stars have aligned, guys. It’s time to move onto the next step.
