A Boost in Spirits and the Need to Nest

By Tara

Facebook’s suggested groups got to me! I saw a few groups for Great Dane lovers and I couldn’t click “join” fast enough.

People there are posting CONSTANTLY. So often that when I view my newsfeed, almost literally every other post has a photo of a Great Dane. Talk about a huuuuge boost in spirits, no matter how good or bad my day is going! Taught me something interesting about myself: the key (or at least one of them) to happiness is to sprinkle in things you love throughout the day. I never understood why some people obsessively decorate their home or material possessions in their favorite color. I mean, I like purple, but not THAT much. But it makes them happy throughout the day, so more power to them!

On another note, I am fighting this huge urge to to nest. I want more than anything to start shopping for crib mattresses, leashes, food, and toys. I want to make my elevated feeder. I want to make some toys. I want to make some collars. DANGIT I WANT SLOBBER ALL OVER ME!

Okay, maybe not that last part.

The reason why I’m holding off is because, like I said before, we’re moving. No reason why we should add to the stuff we need to pack. We move on September 15th. 14 days to go!

And… 30 more days until we’re ready to foster!
